FAQ

What does Casky Baptist Church believe about salvation?

We believe all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23).

This gift is available to us because while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

Therefore...“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)

What does Casky Baptist Church believe about baptism?

We believe baptism is something believers should practice, following Jesus' example. We practice full immersion baptism and do not believe baptism equals salvation. We only baptize someone AFTER their salvation and they have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Matthew 28:19 ESV

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Matthew 3:16 ESV

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him

What does Casky Baptist Church believe about the Holy Trinity?

We believe God the Father, God the Spirit (Holy Spirit), and God the Son (Jesus) are a three part entity, existing together from before the beginning of mankind.

We believe they laid the foundations of the earth by speaking creation into existence (John 1:1 ESV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made).

We believe they are all powerful, perfect and sinless, and the ultimate authority of creation.

John 10:30 ESV

I and the Father are one.

John 14:26 ESV

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 1:14 ESV

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Revelation 1:8 ESV

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

What does Casky Baptist Church believe about eternity?

We believe eternity is an unavoidable reality for all, and that your eternal life will be spent in one of two places: heaven or hell. We believe both are real, and each person is given the choice of where their spirit will go when their physical bodies pass away.

Hebrews 9:27 ESV

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment

John 3:16 ESV

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

2 Thessalonians 1:9 ESV

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
